I was not well. |
This makes girls beautiful by the way. And gets you Best Man. |
I may have been not well after a few of these. |
In 40k news I will be playing in the first 6th edition tournament down here in Cork "Moo6" and the list I will be bringing is the following:
Librarian w/ Jump Pack, Epistolary, Force Axe, Telepathy
Sanguinary Priest w/ Jump Pack, Power Axe, Infernus Pistol, Melta Bomb
Sanguinary Priest w/ Jump Pack, Power Axe, Infernus Pistol, Melta Bomb
10 Assault Marines w/ Power Fist, 2 Meltaguns
10 Assault Marines w/ Power Fist, 2 Meltaguns
10 Assault Marines w/ Power Fist, 2 Meltaguns
Storm Raven w/ Twin-Linked Multi-Melta, Twin-Linked Lascannon, 4 Bloodstrike Missiles
Storm Raven w/ Twin-Linked Multi-Melta, Twin-Linked Lascannon, 4 Bloodstrike Missiles
Total: 1500
While some people may question the Power Axes on the Independent Characters I find them fantastic. Mainly due to the fact that you can no longer single out Independent Characters in close combat any more and they are AP2 with Strength 6 on the charge. The only way to choose to fight an IC is to now challenge them, for which I have a sacrificial sergeant in each squad to soak those challenges like champions.
Also, I am now going to take the time to thank both Kevin Rynne and David Butler for their awesome hospitality on Saturday night of BroCon and for their BBQ, it was class.
I'm not going to lie. Best Con weekend ever. |
Anyway, that's all for now. Will hopefully have a new post soon.
10 Assault Marines w/ Power Fist, 2 Meltaguns
ReplyDeleteIs fisting the way to go for Sergeants now? With challenges you'll want a decent save (2+ armour or good invul) and if you're willing to throw a character in there they'll probably be tooled up like the above and won't mind having I 1 as long as they have AP 2.
You might need a Fist for battering Dreads and such but I'm beginning to think more and more that a Sarge with Melta Bombs and Power Weapon is the better option as you'll at least get to swing most of the the time and still have Meltabombs for dealing with Vehicles/Dreads.
Might you even be better off putting the Fists on the Sang Priests, having the Sarges accept any challenges first and at least allow the Priests time to swing?
That makes complete sense. A little rejigging of the list gives the priests a PF and iPistol, the Sergeants MeltaB and Power Swords and then the libby is given Melta Bombs.
DeleteIf you'd indulge me for a while...
DeleteI'm even looking more and more at a Plasma Gunslingers with Meltabombs. Terminators were always a pita for RAS weren't they? You can pump out 4 AP 2 shots before you assault (with the Meltas) and if you do challenge you lose out on nothing if you were to carry a Power Weapon instead, assuming you're fighting a 2+ save Sarge/IC. You do lose out if you're fighting a 3+ save guy but you can always decline a challenge in order to stay alive.
I've got a few more thoughts that I'll have to add: Dante is a boss now the more I look at him.
To be honest If I'm going to be taking Plasma in the Assault Squad I'd be better off swapping it for a 4 x Plasma Gun Honour Guard for less points.
DeleteWhat I meant was 2 Plasma Pistols on the Sarge and 2 Meltas on the plebs for the 4 shots.
DeleteI think ill stick with the PS+MB for Moo6 and see how it goes then start trying out other combos.
DeleteAlso you can throw melta-bombs.
ReplyDeleteAlso Gin.
Nope, there is no ranged profile for Meltabombs.
DeleteI agree with Gin.
DeleteI'd worry about you child needing gin to make girls beautiful. Fact is they either already are or no amount of alcohol can save them.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I really should have said *more* beautiful.
